Tiger, SSA pres., was a repeat offender in The Ernest Graham Inshore Slam Tournament this year. Last yr. he won in the avg. angler div. for snook and red. This yr, on a tough day at 2:05 pm, (and catfish away from a trash can slam) he hooked and landed a 29" red. As per TeamKnuckle Head rules there is a story. Brand new custom cast net,( $/don't let the wife know Mr. Mahoney) opens great, despite lousy shoulder, (maybe cost is worth it), no bait to be had, (shrimp at South Shore Bait&Tackle = more$), catches this fish with a pole (shrimp & cork) between his legs and the red hits a silver & blue Cal jig at the top of the lift, coming out of the water (OK $ be damned that was priceless).
Pics taken, fish released and Tiger says "I see the thrill of catching big fish on lures". (Check the "other" forum later this week for a deal on a slightly used custom cast net)! There is an update given for the pediatric Cancer Research Center at USF. Lab is set-up, 2 new researchers on the payroll, SSA cell incubator in use and working toward step 4 of a 10 step plan to make the vaccine for leukemia, all in 1 year! Congrats to Dr. Tebbi and his team and The One Voice Foundation, headed by Mary Ann Mossolio.
Again guys this is absolutely PRICELESS!
Oh, by the way, Tiger's red wins for the average angler div. and is the biggest red of the tournament. It's the reason I practice the "Take a kid fishing" that I preach.

Very cool...one step away from getting in a kayak.  Wait until he gets pulled around by a big ol' red.

Hey...if I can stand in 20-25 knot winds (yeah I was out there last Sun) I could shoot out of one easily.  I sat down when I started seeing whitecaps - ZOINKS!!  With the exception of one trip, that was the most wind I've been out in.

Shoulda slammed out, but nooooo, I thought that red was an oyster bed.  2 trout, 2 snook...reds were a  pain to come by.  Off the water at 11 - then things got real.  No doubt they gusted over 25.

BTW - take some of those tourney winnings and buy some new shorts.  Those shorts are so holy that they should only be worn at church.
