Tiger and I fished the Earnest Graham Inshore Slam on Fri. 3/23. Proceeds went to 1 Voice Foundation, dedicated to Pediatric Cancer. There was a rec & pro division. Tiger has the whole day planned, bait-on the flats before light, pre-tourney at Hula Bay Club,(Bloody Marys, lite breakfast, meet the contestants, then a shot-gun start and off we go. A short ride to a long flat, power pole down and first bait in the water get whacked with a 21" snook. Tiger gets a 23"er and the rest is a blurrrr. More snook, a fat red and it's nearly 1:30 (we moved the boat twice for the incoming tide, not 100 yds) and Tiger needs a trout. Move to 4' and a sand flat, chumming the live bait (why waste it?) Tiger casts 40 yds. to a sand hole as small as a cafe table and boom he's on with a short visit from a 19" trout. Tiger wins longest snook and red and SSA Longest Trout Tourner winner Tim Imrisek wins for trout. Yes he is a Trout Whisperer!
Lots of fun, lots of money for a great cause, meeting lots of fishy people, not a bad day and at the captain's mtg SSA presented Dr. Tebbi with a $3500 check for his new cell incubator to aid his research, thanks to all of the anglers from the SSA tourney! snook crazy
