The saying goes "You do all year, what you do on new years day". Tiger and a friend took me out of CRB on Wed. Tide was really ouuuuutttttt with the wind helping. There were a few others out there and the best was a father & son doing some serious work and catching fish along the edges with shrimp under a bobber.
We used soft plastics and picked up a number of trout with a small flounder thrown in. Tiger caught it on a white CAL bait off of a sand edge. The trout liked the new penny "lil john" I used with a flat head jig. (Artie Price gave that tip at a recent Captain Mike conversation). We fished the troughs along the edges of the channel in about 3-4' of water. Tiger's friend, Irving, was catching trout on an off white rage tail. Left the house at 7:30 and we were back at 1:30, a little wet and chilled. But my resolution for this year is to get some use out of the boat and bend a rod when I can! snook crazy
