We went in their last Friday during low tide  via a pass prior to the river. The water is really skinny that way. Is there an easier way in or should I wait until an incoming tide?

I'd know the tide and movement fishing in that area. Water can really leave and you're up the creek! Best I've done, set up 1/2 hr. before tide turned to go out and fished for 90 min., we targeted reds and caught 3 @ 26" and 1 over slot on a 1/4 moon.   snook crazy

I agree w/ snook crazy. Set up before out going tide change and fish for 1-2 hours. Mags and the mangroes hold fish.
