Left at 6:30 am and fished on a low tide going out (and out and out... - ended up walking the kayak in for a bit)

Had a very good day - 15 trout, 3 reds, 3 flounder and the obligatory ladyfish.  Neighbor had similar numbers, but I had the early hot hand so I think we were at 30-40 fish... the action was so good that in order not to run out of bait I ended up switching to artificials.  For the record I was catching trout every cast on live bait, and every other cast on artificials (not all day, but in this one area it was just like that).

Reds seemed to like shrimp and artificials equally.  Flounders were strictly on plastics.  Reds were 14-18" ; Flounders just over 12" or so.  Trouts anywhere from 14-21" (or so).

Managed to almost fill up my waders when I was 2" from the top.   Man...the water looked 12" deep - wth??  Sunk in mud to the stomach.  Made a mess of the boat, walked out on my knees to get back in.

Unbelievably I used 1 (yes 1) artificial bait all day.  I don't know how it didn't get trashed, but the last flounder took it with him.  Used the dehooker a bunch...sweet.

Photos below...btw - I have yet to figure out how to take good photos in the kayak.  It's a work in progress as this is my second trip out in a kayak.

Didn't get the slam, but I was working on a cycle (made that term up - someone can correct me if I'm in error) - needed a snook.

Had a bunch of photos, figured one was better than a bunch.

That's a great day on the water. It looks like cleaning the yak may have taken as much time and effort as a boat after this trip.
Merry Christmas,  snook crazy

Mud was on everything, jackets, tackle box, sea anchor...with the exception of the rods/reels, it was a mess.
