Due to their length I had been having issues getting my longer rods in the front rod holders.  I saw the fishmaster.com had some grommet to pass the rods through the T-Top.  I ordered a couple pair and proceeded to install them.

It's a pretty basic install and the toughest part about the install is manning up to cut the top.

Basic kit...string and nut make is what I used for a redneck plumbers bob...

Put 6' rod in  rod holder and using plumber's bob make an "X" for the center of the circle.  Using the plastic ring, stencile in the circle.  It's doesn't have to be dead center, but close enough to get the rod through.

Cut the hole, and I used a heat gun to seal up the frayed edges on the top.  I marked and poked a hole where the screws were to come through.  I used a nail.  I wouldn't use a drill bit as it may really tear things up.

Up top I pushed the screws through the holes...

I added the ruber gasket and bottom plastics ring.  Put in the bolts and using the provied allen wrench secure things.  I was going to use some lock-tite but it became a hassle.  So I'll keep an eye on things.

Repeat on port side.  This is an 8' rod on the starboard side, and a 7'6" on the port side. Pretty hard to see where they stop and start, but it worked.

As a side benefit the t-top standoffs are close enough to the rods that I can secure them with a bungee.  It's probably overkill, but I might use them.

It was a pretty easy job and added some additional functionality.  I have the hardware for 2 more, but I want to see if I need those two as well.  Between the rocket launchers, stern rod holders, gunnel rod holders and now the ability to have these rods in place I'm up to about  12 rod holders.  It's just nice to have them out of the way.

Just think in 4 1/2 yrs. the engineering can be left to wonder boy, and that will allow you to watch with one of those Bud foam coolers filled with a cold one! This article means the wind was up and you didn't fish over the w.e?

Oh no...there's no such thing as no fishing.

We went wade fishing and let me tell you it was blowing 15-20, with gusts hitting 25 at 6:30am.  Only caught one red, but it was pretty cool - it hit about 10' from me; two reds were fighting for the green Aquadream spoon.

I did that project after I got home around 1/2pm. I was on about 3-4 hours of interrupted sleep, so I slept really hard Sunday night.
