First, Thanks to all the anglers that participated. From all over the 813, all over the 863, all over the 727, the 941 and as far away as PA. (Yes Member George Fox's son came from PA, joined SSA and paid to fish with his Dad). So many new anglers to the SSA's cause I can't count and so many that fished this in 09 when it was a snook tourney and the wind blew and 16 snook were registered with 8 over slot! SSA picked up a minimun of 12 anglers at the Expo last week-end. 4 couples with ties to the CCA and some from Capt. Lori Deaton's Hooked on Hope Tourney. And a small group from C/W led by Bill Moan fishing in their 9th of 14 tournaments with SSA.
Club member, Mike Rind, Mary Ann Massolio from 1 Voice Foundation and Bay Area Cardiologist Dr. Robert Dewhurst, (now Tiger & I call him Bob) were the reason SSA chose Leukemia Researsh for the tournament charity. Will Dewhurst is currently in the 8 1/2 yr. treatment program for pediatric leukemia patients. The cell incubator SSA will purchase will help find a vaccine to stop kids from knowing what this disease is.
3rd Place & a pair of CostaDelmar sunglasses from T A Mahoney
Jason Anzulewicz 25 1/4"
2nd Place & a fillet table from Sanchez Bros. Custom Fabrication
Mike Manning 26 1/4"
1st Place & a Power Pole from J L Marine & T A Mahoney
Tim Imrisek 26 5/8"
Each of these winners also won an angler entry to The Earnest Graham Inshore Slam valued at $250.
Earnest Graham drove all the way to The Resort & Club at Little Harbor to emcee the event. Earnest is on the Board of Directors for 1 Voice
Foundation and his tourney will benefit this group. He and Mary Ann stressed that Dr. Tebbi is anxious to get the cell incubator! Well Dr., you will soon have it, now get to work with your staff and please make this happen!
If there was room I'd put every anglers name here for thanks. Please know that Tiger and the SSA give thanks from the bottom of our hearts! Please check the sponsor page to help all the businesses that make this possible.
